Question

several itunes questions

Sep 23, 2011 10:22AM PDT

I recently crashed my hard drive and had to reinstall itunes. Some of the music on my iphone is from albums not purchased from itunes. I've encountered several issues:

1. How can I transfer my music from my iphone to itunes, especially the music i downloaded from cds?
2. I tried to eliminate duplicates. Now my music tab ONLY displays the music even when I press "show all" only the duplicates are displayed
3. I'm afraid to sync the music because I get the warning that all my music on the iphone will be lost. I don't want that.
4. In general, I'm trying to move all my iphone music to itunes, delete the duplicates, and then resync all that music plus my new purchases to the iphone

HELP!

1. Download and install a program called iRip. This will enable you to move your music from your iPhone to your computer and then into iTunes
2. Not sure what you mean by that one
3. DO NOT SYNC UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETED #1
4. Proceed in the following order. Step 1, Step 3, Step 5
5. Sync the iPhone when ALL your music is back in iTunes

Question 2

On question 2, what I mean is when I open iTunes, I only get a list of songs which are duplicates on my iTunes. Even when I click "display all" the screen remains the same

If the screen only displays the "duplicates"

is it possible that they are not actually duplicates?

no they were actual duplicates, and the problem was they were the only songs that displayed even though there were many more in itunes. Somehow using the iRip fixed it.
Weird.
