Unless your Thinkpad came with a drivers CD, you will need to identify your wireless chip (Everest can help with that) and then download the necessary drivers either from Lenovo or the chip's manufacturer (see Everest's output) using another computer, copying them to your computer for installation. No troubleshooting steps necessary.

I just bought a lenovo thinkpad W500 and it came preloaded with win vista business. I could connect fine to the wireless internet, Intel 802.11agn wireless.
I purchased a copy of the vista ultimate with the computer so I loaded a completely new copy onto the computer - as that was the only option on the CD. Now I cannot connect to the internet - I cannot even see the Intel 802.11agn wireless listed in the device manager, there is no section for network adapters (and I compared this to a friends computer to make sure I wasnt missing it). I followed the troubleshooting to download the drivers from the lenovo website from another computer, but all the troubleshooting steps require me to see the device under network adapters. What happened?
