by ezmoez / May 12, 2009 3:11 AM PDT

I have an old dell a10 A940 All-In-One Printer that I like to use for scanning and basic printing for black and white for documents but my old dell computer died so I got a new HP Pavilion computer with Vista. I thought I found some drivers thru Dell search and but when I go to add a printer it asks me to add a type and it doesn't have the all in one's just lazer's.....I tried adding an a10 but it doesn't work. Any ideas???

I didn't know what Vista but I guess it's 64 bit and the link for drivers that you recommended didn't work.

Dell A940 Printer Connection
by ezmoez / May 12, 2009 1:29 PM PDT

I downloaded the drivers and that's seems fine, the printer is working but there is no application for scanning? I used to have the All in One Center on my Dell computer but it's not there now and can't figure out how to scan now, and that's the main reason why I wanted this printer to work. Any help appreciated.

It said to try this but it most likely won't work with Vista 64-bit.

As for scanning, if you have the disk that came with the printer, then insert the Printer disk and stop it from running. Go to My Computer and double click on it. Look for the drive with the Dell disk in it. Right click on it, left click explore. Look for the OCR Folder. In the OCR Folder, there is an Abbyy Folder. right click on setup.exe, that's in the Abbyy Folder and left click run as administrator. This will install the OCR program.

Your next option is to use this program which should be compatible. The program that I recommended, is no longer there.

Meet the drop-resistant Moto Z2 Force

The Moto Z2 Force is really thin, with a fast processor and great battery life. It can survive drops without shattering.
