While it may not help you much, at home we have a big screen HDTV (doesn't matter except it's big) and the problem I see is that 1080p at these dimensions is going to have some complaining about "is that all?"
The reason why might be the display's DPI is dropping fast as the screen size goes up.
My kid's 16 inch laptop is 1080p and has razor sharp graphics. Put that on the big screen and the same pixels are there but blown up and you might say it's fuzzy.

I'm fortunate enough to work for Sony and when the Family Center (aka employee shop) has a sale on TV's it's a good idea to take a look.
Found the KDL-32BX300 at an excellent price and thought it would do nicely as a monitor but I don't think I'm getting the best picture possible.
Setup:
2 Vista PC's connected to TV through Iogear DVI KVM switch, sharing audio, video, keyboard & mouse along with USB. TV connected via HDMI to DVI cable
Video card PC 1 - ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT with Catalyst Control
Video card PC 2 - ATI Radeon HD 4350 with Catalyst Control
Using the HD modes on both. No changes to PC or TV settings.
Any help/suggestions/info would be welcome.
Thanks
