setting up the LN-T4642H with PC

Dec 12, 2008 9:39AM PST

I am attempting to use my TV to view programs found online. When I get to the Setup Menu, the PC and Home Theatre PC option is grey and cannot be selected. Can anyone share how they have successfully managed to set up their TV for viewing contents on PC?

hooking PC to TV

I have a laptop. Well, actually 3 laptops. Two macs & one PC. For the time being, we'd like to dedicate the PC to the television. Although in the future, I'd prefer to use an old Mac laptop, an iBookG4 running OS 10.3.9, for this purpose.

We're a three-person household, each with our own "box" (as my partner refers to our laptops), and none of us wants to sacrifice our personal box for TV viewing. So ideally, we'd like to run the old laptop, which is the G4.

Thank you.

The prospect of updating the BIOS on the PC intimidates me. From what I've read, you can blow out your motherboard if a problem occurs while updating it. With my luck, a problem will occur.

In order to get a picture on the TV from my computer, I guess I'll have to buy that DVI to VGA adaptor for my Mac. I hope it will work.

It seems like hooking the TV to the computer should be as simple matter of cabling. But then, is anything ever simple anymore?
