Setting up my Grandaughters Computer

Jan 7, 2005 12:19PM PST

Just put together a computer for my GD for Xmas.
Win 2000 Pro,P3-933, 512 SdRam, Maxtor 15.5 Hd, Lan Card, etc..etc...doesn't matter. Her Daddy is on Cogeco Cable Hi-Speed . His computer (Win XP Pro..) is in the Recroom (basement) hers is upstairs in her bedroom. Am I safe to tell them all they neeed is a wireless router, or am I missing something? (me and the wife are still on something called "Dial-up"...! Thanks in advance for your help..

Yes. The router doesn't necessarily have to be wireless, although I would think you'd be hard-pressed to find a modern router without a built-in firewall (which is what you're really looking for) and 802.11 support.
