If itś truly a speaker problem, my guess is that you should be able to get out of there for less than $50.
Hi there, i need some help setting up an external audio source, but i really do not know anything about external audio for a TV.
Basically, i just blew out one of the internal speakers on my TV (Emerson 32 inch. yeah, that one that walmart had for 248$ last Black Friday) and i do not know a way around it with all hdmi sources.
I'm fairly certain that i will need to go out and buy a cheapo stereo system to fix this problem, but i have a dilemma to solve first.
Currently, i have a PS3, an Xbox 360, and my computer hooked up to this TV. the PS3 and 360 are fine, it's the computer i have to worry about. my video card supports HDMI out, but it does not support audio out via HDMI, so i am using a standard audio-jack to A/V converter to carry the sound to my TV via little red and white cables.
the way i see it, i have one of two options, unless someone has a better one for me:
1. Get an external HDMI audio source, one that my TV is capable of rerouting sound to. this would need to be paired with an HDMI device switch, but i'm cool with that. i think this is the cheaper of the two options
2. Find a home theatre system that can double as an HDMI switch. i think this would be the better but more expensive option. it would need to let me hook both an hdmi cable and the A/V cables into one source, then outsoource all of the video to my computer for me.
Anyway, i'm not sure if i have this figured out. maybe someone can help me with this problem. until then, i'm going to deal with little to no sound.
