setting up AOL on a second computer

May 6, 2005 9:37PM PDT

I currently have two computers setup throught a p2p network. On my main computer(xp Home) I run AOL and using a proxy to sent information to the second computer. I can access the internet on my second computer through Internet Explorer.

The problem is when I try to access the internet through AOL on my second machine throught the proxy program it does'nt work.

Has anyone any ideas.

Thanks.

The nature of your Internet connection as well as the proxy server is needed to assess what's happening. From what you've given, I see AOL trying to connect from the client PC without using the proxy you set up for this purpose. If you want to go to AOL's website simply make it your homepage and continue using IE.

My girl friend likes using the AOL browser and accessing her e-mail through this.

I dont know if you are awear that you can set up AOL on a network through a proxy.

I think the problem is with the hostname because when IE asks for this its in IP address form but AOL just asks for the hostname. I've tried the IP values and the character hostname but it still doesnt work.

Any suggestion would be tried.
