Most of these only work when the TV on HDMI 1 is up.
If you want to split the HDMI I'd try a HDMI (powered) Splitter. Many on amazon so I'll pause here.
I am trying to hook up the rf-link 5811 to send a signal to a tv in another room. I have a DirecTV mini genie which is hooked up to a tv (tv 1) using hdmi in first room. I use an av cable from the genie to the rf-link transmitter. The rf-link receiver in the other room hooks into the other tv (tv 2). It all works perfectly if tv 1 is on, but if tv 1 is off (genie is still on) I get a message on tv 2 that says I must change the type of connector in order to view any programming on tv 2.
This totally confuses me because the signal to the transmitter should be going straight from the genie.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Dori
