Setting up a VHS player to a Sony Bravia

Dec 5, 2009 2:39PM PST

How can i record my favorite show? PLease help this is very important to me.?
On Dec 21 i am trying to tape my favorite show monday night raw. I am going to the show and would like a copy for prosperity. The problem is i have a sony bravia TV and no DVR box. I do have an old vhs player, however im not sure if i can hook it up to a sony bravia and how to tape with it. I don't believe their is any website to buy this taping of the show. THe only thing i can think of is buying a cheap DVR without monthly payments. (like Panasonic) but the cheapest one is $150. If anyone can give me advice on hooking up my VHS or have any other ideas on helping me get a tape of this show. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. (You can tell how serious this situation is by how much i wrote lol.)

Not sure you will be allowed to

You don't say what type of show you are going to see, stage show, TV show, or a band on tour, or anything like those, but many venues like stage/theatre and TV studios will not allow unofficial recordings to be made.

The video recorder ...

should be attached to the signal source, if possible, not to the TV showing the picture. So that's the antenna or the cable or digital to analog converter box or whatever you use to convert what's coming into your home to something the TV understands.
The TV only comes into play when viewing the recording.

Usual inputs on a VCR are antenna-in or SCART. See what you have and can use.
