The more I have to write "nope."
So I'm having an issue with my sound system. I've been using a Panasonic sa-pt650 surround sound system for ages, but have never really been able to utilize the actual surround sound feature (I've just been using stereo basically with the two front speakers). All the speakers are wired up correctly and placed around the room, however.
Recently, I've thought about ways to get the surround system actually working with my PS4.
Here's some of the specs and details about my setup:
-I have a basic PS4, not a slim or PS4 Pro version
-My sound system is a Panasonic sa-pt650. It has component out, basic rca out, and 1 HDMI out port, NO optical input or output
-My TV is a Vizio D43-C1 and has 2 HDMI ports, component ports, basic stereo ports, and an optical output
I know this would be dead simple if my sound system had an optical port, but it does not. Would it be possible to set up the surround sound with HDMI or component?
I'm currently experimenting with having HDMI go from the PS4 into one of the HDMI ports in the TV, and the second HDMI port on the TV go into the sound system, but I don't know if this is even possible, or if it is, what settings to have on each device (PS4, TV, etc.)
My current setup and settings are like so:
-PS4: Primary Output Port -- HDMI OUT
Audio format -- Bitstream (DTS)
-TV: Digital Audio Out -- Bitstream
Analog Audio Out -- Fixed
How would I get this to work if i even can?
