Setting up a Mac Server to a PC

Sep 20, 2005 12:58PM PDT

Peter, I had posted this to a link that was locked later on last week. Thought I would post it where we did not have "Some people's kids" to contend with.

If I have an ethernet/d-link setup linked from my G4 Mac Quicksilver Server to my PC. Would it be possible to play games on the PC from my Mac? Would be kind of nice to do so. Really don't know if that is possible.
I have the hardware. Set up file sharing on the PC and the Mac?

My monitor with the Mac is really nice. A Viewsonic G90fb
Graphic Series. Not the best, yet nice. Better than what I have for my PC. That would be my reason for running PC Majong puzzles on my Mac that are also unavailable for Mac.

NO.
To do that you would require something like Remote Desktop, from MS, which would enable you to connect directly to the PC from the Mac.
I'm almost certain that you can find a boatload of Majong puzzles for the Mac.

The question if from the old Johnny Carson Sketch: Karnack

The answer is NO!
Thanks Pete. Will not have to pursue that.
However, "Kyodai" Mahjongg developed from France is the best in the world. Wish Kyodai would write for the Mac.
Most of the Majong puzzles for the Mac are lame.

Taboma,
I have an antique box left to me by my grandmother, with drawers full of what look like dominoes and swizlle sticks. They have oriental charicture writing on them, and they are made of bone- ivory-mother of perl- and wood.
I have no clue about it, but when I read your post, the lower memory slot kicked in and I remembered someone telling me it was a "Mahjongg set".
I gave them a look like a dog that had just been shown a card trick.
I remember trying to look it up on the internet, but it's not hard to guess that my spelling of Mahjongg (majong?) didn't get me much.
What can you tell me about the game?
This wiil probably be tedious for the forum, so just e-mail me if you like.
