setting up a home network

Hi. I am looking for a website with clear info on how to configure a network. I have a dlink Di-704P and the istructions are not clear. All the hardware is in place. One computer is running win 98 and the main one runs Win Me. I am looking for a-z help. What computer do i start with? What are the network set up instructions? MS help is no help...cant see network using network neighbourhood and network troubleshooter does not run. help please...cc email to rjcedar@hotmail.com

Let's start with the most commong GAFFE. The home networker has installed a firewall before the network is up and running. Do that and you may have the network all firewalled off and it's end of the game and hand out the excedrin.

Just some good instructions on configuration which includes pictures and clear instructions. You can go backwards in the instructions by clicking on the "3. Configuring...." link in the upper left. Click on the links on the main page and read how to configure both computers:
