This is driving me nuts.
I'm running Vista Home Premium 32 bit.
I have two folders on my desktop, each has a dozen or so shortcuts.
Selecting the "Organize" dropdown (for 1 folder),
I can select "Layout", then toggle "Navigation Pane" off.
I made sure that I had a check in the box for:
"Tools" >
"View" >
"Folder Options" >
Remember Each Folders View Settings.
The problem is that when I open the other folder and toggle
"Navigation Pane" on, the next time I open the first folder that
d*** Navigation Pane" is back just like bad chili.
It clutters the folder, makes necessary the addition of drag bars on side and bottom, and makes it necessary to almost double the size of the folder window if I want to see all of my dozen or so shortcuts WITHOUT drag bars.
I don't want the "Navigation PAIN" or the drag bars in one folder. It's driving me nuts. Does anyone know how I need to massage the system to allow me to set each folders display options separately?
Any help is much appreciated. Assuming it comes before I do something unmentionable to my one year old laptop.
Thanks, Tim
