To run Mincraft with a decent performance, do one or more of the following until you're happy:
- add RAM
- change OS
- replace the video card by a better one
- replace the motherboard and processor

I have a pretty beast computer, and when my friends come over, they want to play MC on my PC and not the spare computer, which can barely run it's OS(Which is Vista, BTW). Well the only thing I would want that computer for is Minecraft, so I was wondering if it was possible to set it up for the sole purpose of running Minecraft. Like maybe removing all content on the hard drive that isn't vital to running the game? I had an idea to write a batch file that would exit explorer and other processes and launch Minecraft for you(I did something similar to make an old game work on Win 7). Would installing an older OS help? I have access to virtually any, and I figured installing XP or something might decrease the load on the system and allow it to focus more on MC.
For the record, it does play Minecraft, just with low render settings and decreased particles and fast graphics, etc.
