Tomron: I believe sp4 is the latest for Win2000.
sp4 incorporates all previous service packs, so you should be in good shape.

I ran Microsoft baseline security analyzer and it says I'm missiing some updates.

They all say "This update requires office 2000 service pack 3-English version to be installed first".

I was wondering why it says service pack 3.

Does this imply that service pack 3 needs to be installed?

Thanx,
Tom

You NEED to say what application...

or OS you have a service pack 3 for.

It appears from this last post of yours that you need the service packs for Office 2000 which have little if anything to do with service pack 3 for Windows 2000 if by chance you have that as your OS.

While the Operating System Service Packs are cumulative (installing the latest is all that is needed), the Office Service Packs are NOT CUMULATIVE and tend to require AT LEAST the previous installation of SP1 for the particular version of Office.

Here is what you need to know about the Office 2000 service packs:

Thanks for mentioning the OS is Win 2K...
Jan 30, 2005 5:17AM PST

but the rest was really unnecessary as it indicates that you need to install the MS Office 2000 Service Packs which was mentioned previously (and you need to install all three and in sequence 1 then 2 then 3) as well as some additional updates that have been released since SP3 for Office 2000 was released.

Same goes for your Win 2K operating system. You said you have SP4 installed which is great BUT there have been hotfixes released since then and a planned update rollup for SP4 will be released around mid 2005.

My previous message provides you with the necessary links to download the OFFICE Service Packs and AFTER they are installed you can simply use OFFICE UPDATE http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/default.aspx for the additional Office fixes and Windows update for your OS patches.
