Nope, this is not a download problem it's a SP2 installation problem. Instead of using the windows updates, obtain a full SP2 installation package.
During the installation you'll get the same error again. So, ask again Microsoft for the fixing procedure.
That error has already the cause identified and there is a procedure for it. Too bad that the MS techs couldn't be able to provide the fix.

I have tried to download the Service Pack 3 times and get an error message each time. It goes through all the removing files and adding new files. Then I get a box that says "access denied". When I click "ok", the computer starts uninstalling the Service Pack. I end up with what I had before trying to download. I keep getting messages that say to download, but can't. When I called Microsoft, they said they could not help me because I didn't have the Service Pack 2 installed. Anyone know what could be the problem and how to fix it? Thanks, Betty
