Service is not working after rebooting the workstation.

Jan 5, 2011 8:46PM PST

In Windows Vista OS, the service is working properly after configuring the logon properties (with Admin or Power user profile id). AFTER RESTARTING/REBOOTING THE WORKSTATION THE SERVICE IS NOT STARTING AND IT GIVES AN ERROR MESSAGE "LOGIN FAILURE".

What I would try.
Jan 5, 2011 8:56PM PST

I would go back to stock settings.

Has this ever worked, and if so, what changed?

To go back to stock I would work down the table list at BlackViper web site at http://www.blackviper.com/WinVista/servicecfg.htm and make sure each appropriate service is set accordingly.

Note that this table refers to Vista with SP2, so if you haven't updated to SP2 yet I would do that first.

Vista and XP are different so dependencies ma differ as well.

- What service?
- In your first sentence you say it's working properly. In your second sentence you say it isn't. Can you explain what you mean?
- What object exactly did you configure with what properties?
- What is 'Power user profile id'?
- What is IT that gives an error message?

.NET Window Service is not working in Vista OS
Feb 7, 2011 10:25PM PST

We have made windows service in .NET and deployed in Vista OS.
As per our policy, we have to configure the service with admin/power user profile as logon of service. It is working fine till the system restart/reboot.

It is not working after restarting the system and gives and error message "Logon Failure".

I am authoring a few apps in .Net and await you revealing how your programmers tackled this problem.
