Server 2003 wont let me install VM Ware

Aug 24, 2010 1:21PM PDT

Long story short, my virtual machines kept crashing so I tried to update. The installer ran fine, forced uninstall of old version, rebooted physical machine, and now will not let me install the new version of VM Ware, saying that "The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation." I noticed that it will no longer let me log into the local admin account. All I can log into is the domain using the AD "Administrator" account.

Now, call me crazy, but I am pretty sure I am the system administrator. This is a test & education environment I have set up to study for MS exams. It is Win Server 2003 running on a Proliant DL380 G2.

So, where the heck did I screw this up? Everything was fine until I tried farting around with virtual machines, now the whole thing is flipping out. Where can I set these "policies" that keep denying me access to my own systems?
