Hi. I?d waited almost 6 years to purchase a new LCD TV. I picked a Samsung series 6 LCD TV and it was fantastic. I started calling the TV my son sam ( sam-sung) Sad I know but I was just so glad to replace my old second hand tube with such a nice TV. My joy was short lived as I read in the manual that you can update the firmware via the USB port. So I searched on the Samsung site for a firmware for my model. I found one and updated to it. My heart sank as things went horribly wrong. The sound is now funny but worst of all it won?t pickup digital TV so there is very little I can do with it.
It turns out that I downloaded the Australian firmware and not the New Zealand version. Two Samsung TVs share the same model number but they aren?t the same model. Very confusing for me to understand. I wish they had a warning on the site or in the instructions.
Can anyone PLEASE point me to a firmware that will bring my TV back to normal? The very nice New Zealand Samsung tech support people don?t appear to know how to get the original firmware for it. The model isn?t even listed on the New Zealand site. It?s been almost 3 weeks now and I would just really love to get the TV back to normal. I can?t even use my old TV as it was given away. Can someone Please help?
My full model number is: LA40A680M1MXRD Version SQ01.
