In the mouse properties section(mouse icon in ctl. panel) make sure you select left-right handed operation for the buttons. There you should be able to test as well. Further, you can also increase the mouse movement if need be. You play with new setting then check results, just be sure to apply them. Also, on the mouse itself if it has a selection sw.(MS/PC) use whichever seems to work best, try this 1st! before the above suggestions.
Of course, I'm sure a PS/2 type mouse would work quite well to fight any serial mouse operation as a solution.
I have connected a new serial mouse onto my windows Pc. XP install the proper driver and shows device working properly. When i move the mouse the cursor moves around but when i click the button, it selects nothing. Both the left and right buttons are not working. Surprisingly when i take it to the service center for troubleshooting everything works fine.
