SEO

I hope I'm in the right forum here (I apologize if I'm not).

I need to make a decision, and I was hoping to get some advice from some of the experts here.

I am paying a marketing company to work on my website. They claim to have a application that knows google's algorithm. They claim they will be doing Search Engine Optimization to my website so after all the content is entered they will take each page and its content and search for specific keywords and keyword phrases and then from there re-script each of the pages contents to ensure that it will be optimized to accommodate Googles search and algorithm criteria to increase your searchability and success for keyword searches. All this will be done for a pretty high cost per month.

I'm just trying to do as much research as I can on this process and get as many different opinions on the process

Frankly?

SEO is one of those things that companies love to sell since you can't measure how good a job they did.

Frankly my advice is to never hand any company that touts SEO as a service a dime. If you have a good product and service the sales will do just fine.

Frank I would agree that good products and services sell themselves, but people need to know about them. SEO services are one of those things that can be very beneficial if you get the right company.

Now to address the Google algorithm. There is NO software that can take you up on google rating system. Good SEO tactics and time will do this for you.

Truthfully if you have the time and want to you learn, you can do your own SEO and learn everything you online. I would go that route, see what works for you then, later you can hire someone to do what you have proven to know that works.

I would recommend submitting your site to many web directories. I use the free directory list located at http://www.vmoptions.com They list new directories each day and it can help especially if you stick with it over a long period of time.

Link populartiy is important, but it is not everything. You also should have the best content you can possibly produce. Not only will this help to build natural links, but your content will be unique and crawled frequently. And since your content is unique, what visitors you do get will come back for more.

Make sure you use proper H tags (header tags). H1 should be the main topic, H2 secondary topics/items, and so on. Also make sure to include your important keyword in your title and meta tags. Providing you do this, and reference your keywords naturally within each page, your search engine ranks should improve.

Good luck!
