Question

Sent Folder sort in Live Mail

Apr 12, 2013 9:13AM PDT

I would like to be able to sort my Live Mail SENT folder by TO column, and then a secondary sort by DATE. If I establish the sort of the SENT folder by the TO column, it automatically sorts alphabetically by SUBJECT of message, which is not helpful. I remember this problem started a few years back after I did a Live Mail update. I've recently gotten a Windows 8 computer, and can't use Outlook because my Comcast mail is POP3, so I had to stick with Live Mail. I was hoping to resolve this problem because it's quite difficult to find sent messages based on SUBJECT.

Can anyone help? Thanks!

Answer
I think it's not a feature.

I see only one sort. Not two. There are folk that explode over this but the cure is to use apps that do what you want versus what they want.

Live Mail Sent folder sort order

I agree - I see only one sort. And after I sort by TO, the messages within TO are sorted alphabetically by SUBJECT automatically.

In the IN box, I can sort by FROM, and then the subsort is by DATE, not subject. That's the inconsistency that is difficult. Thanks for responding.
