Sending video signal to mini mac via firewire800 port.

New to mac here... one was purchased for church 2 months ago. Im an advanced PC user so I shouldn't have too much trouble translating Mac-speak... I hope.
I am sending an analog video signal from a cctv camera, into a Sony DVMC-DA2 video-in port. I want to send the output from the DV-out port using a DV to Firwire 800 cable and into the firewire 800 port on the mini mac. Is this possible and if so, how? If not, is there another way to do it? The analog video signal is working all the way to the DV out on the DA2. The mini mac won't recognize it from the DA2. I want to broadcast this signal over Ustream's Watershed streaming service. Thanks.
