Sending a huge avi file?

Aug 5, 2005 2:04PM PDT

WinXP, RAM 512MB.
With the camcorder SONY DCR-TRV22E I got ultimately a file (xxx.AVI) of more than 6GB size on my HD. Please guide as to how could I send this file through Internet to a friend?

Go to my site below, scroll down to the Free Software link, and download The File Splitter. A small utility that will break up large files for emailing or storing. You can designate the size of each file and after it is split the last part will contain a merge file. The recipient will save the files in a folder, run the merge file, and put the whole file back together.

WONDERFUL! How many parts you suggest for a file of the size of 6 GB not forgetting that the receipient has a dial up connection ?

Did you say 1 Gigabyte?

I'd burn a dual layer DVD and mail it to him. Really. It would take forever for that size file on dial-up. Consider the average dial-up connection at 45Kb/s. Take into consideration net delays and such so his actual download speed would be about 3.5 KB/s on a perfect connection with no other delays or drops. And most ISPs won't allow an inbox larger than a few Megabytes.

Glad you liked my download but I'd not send that size file.
