Unlikely. Here's why.

Microsoft did not offer any patches to Office 97 to work without issue in Windows XP.

You will find glitches and anomilies. But there are no patches available.

Some don't like that, but it's quite an good old version.

thanks Bob, I knew there were problems, and I love my old Office 97.
I only want to put the 'mail recip' command in the Word 97 'send to' folder

Hi, I don't have XP, but why don't you try this:

1) check to see if in Windows Explorer when you rightclick a file does your dropdown menu have a 'send to'...mail recipient?

2) If so, in your Word 97, if you first 'save' the file, then go to file/open, highlight the file and rightclick, this should give you the same dropdown menu and you could choose send to mail recipient from there.

This should work in any program that brings up a mini windows explorer when you go to file/open or file/new or file/save. Just remember to save your file first.

Worth a try....

sorry terry, you have to close the file before the send-to command will work, it just wont do it with the relevant file open, not even if it's minimised and the command used from w/explorer.
