"Send to E-Mail Client" & "E-Mail This Folders Files" ....

by tobeach / November 20, 2006 5:32 PM PST

have stopped functioning recently (last 7-14 days). Sys info in profile. Didn't know to post here, communications or AV forums but seemed more an XP/OE problem. OE is V.6 with Update Q330994 & VML & WMF MS fixes but no patches applied since before this appeared.

Normally when I click on either of above & file is photo (Jpgs), first I get pop-up offer to shrink picture for mailing & then the OE6 "Create Mail" page pops-up with photos attached just needing me (while online) to fill in recipients addie & click send. I get "sending mail" & then the AVG E-mail scanner pops up & starts spinning up to 100% and it's sent (and in sent folder).

Lately, I still get the shrink pic offer, click yes...and nothing more happens period. Seems gone into the ether.
The pics are not in the OUT folder nor in the Sent folder. No AVG Scanner pops up.

I ran Checkdisk/r just in case it was corrupted system file & tried restores back 5 & 10 days but no cigar!

I suspected it might be held up in AVG mail queue & look there and find 4 folders:
Active, Temp, Out, In. Normally they're all empty.
When checked at the time of occurrence the Active folder showed about 4 items, one of which was 6,000+ kbs (pics?).

The one change I made lately in AVG mail was to deselect "use heuristics analysis" for ALL In & Out mail (terribly slow) and checked box for "with attachments only".

Is it possible that it only detects attachments made manually in OE create mail mode & doesn't recognize actions started from "folder options" e-mail path?? Just a W.A.G.
Any other ideas occur???

Thanks for your thoughts!! Happy

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
