Send text messages from your computer?

Jun 3, 2009 7:46AM PDT

I have an IBM Thinkpad and would like the ability to send a text message from my laptop to my clients' cell phones - if I need to reach them in a hurry, regardless of their wireless carrier. Any recommendations?

Sending text msg from laptop

Thanks. But is there a way to send a text msg from my laptop if I don't have the person's cell phone carrier or if I don't know whether the person has internet access activated on their phone?

Nope, ya gotta know.

From a phone is different from a PC. You have to know at least their carrier.

Don?t know the cell phone provider? Send it to all of them!

1) Write your message

2) In the "to" field type in the 10 digit cell phone number where it says phonenumber for the appropriate cell phone provider.

If you don?t know who their cell phone provider is, send it to all of them and see which one gets through.

AT&T: phonenumber@txt.att.net
T-Mobile: phonenumber@tmomail.net
Virgin Mobile: phonenumber@vmobl.com
Cingular: phonenumber@cingularme.com
Sprint: phonenumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com
Verizon: phonenumber@vtext.com
Nextel: phonenumber@messaging.nextel.com
