semi professional VideoCamera

Jan 2, 2011 2:34AM PST

i am in photography and video editing as a hobby. I mostly take photographs in my trips to various places and i want to get a camera to make videos ( short documentary style ).

Just a few models i researched till now is the Canon XL series and a more consumer model of sony the XR550V .

i know they are completely different but i have not ywt decide if i have to get a mini dv and pro look camera or a consumer Hard disk camera.

My main requirements are best quality video 16:9 also in low light conditions, external mic and compatibility with Sony Vegas which i will use to edit.

Please if you can suggest any other model or to comment anything on those 2 models i would be gratefull.
