Question

Selling product at cost to gather customer feedback?

Jul 18, 2015 7:02PM PDT

I am getting ready to start my first business. Many people have suggested the importance of getting customer feedback early on & using this information to develop a profitable product. One of the ways I wanted to do this was by sending bloggers in the industry my product and getting general feedback from them. I still plan on doing this but depending on how much feedback I need this may ending up being very costly.

I thought maybe I could sell my products at cost to a select group of people in exchange for their  feedback & product reviews. This way I wouldn't be out any money & I could keep it going for as long as needed.

What do you think? Can you see any disadvantages to selling my products at cost before my official launch?

Any relevant advice and/or tips is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
