Self-generating virtual drives

My Windows ME computer, part of a small office network, automatically generates and opens copies of a virtual drive on our network. The copy has the same name as the original, but a different drive letter. I close the window, but the copy remains in "My Computer" until I restart my computer, which all Windows users must do periodically anyway. Has anyone else experienced this?
