I have 500GB transcend external hard drive. when i plug it, i can see all my folders/files in there. but when i try to access individual folders, i cannot. at times i am able to access a folder, then some of the sub folders i am unable to access. It gives a messsage " the drive needs to be formated before use" . it happens consistantly with certain folders and sub folders.why does this happen? how can i recover the data? (pl help very despirate!!!)
