Select startup programs

Jul 17, 2007 11:05PM PDT

I'm having problems with music stuttering using Realtek integrated sound on an ASUS MB. This will happen with digital music in iTunes, Media Player and Nero and playing CD's as well.

In trying to isolate this, I'd like to be able to select which programs will load. In XP, I believe the program was msconfig32. How can I accomplish this in Vista Home premium?

Thanks!

Unnecessary 'Services' Can Also Be Stopped

As Gail mentioned above, "msconfig" is the correct command to place in the "Run" line.. It will allow you to eliminate unnecessary startup programs.. In addition, you can disable unnecessary "Services" by following the steps in the link below:

Once you've done all that, try checking for and updated graphics driver for your onboard card.. New Vista compatible drivers are being released quickly and a new driver might help.

Hope this helps.

Are you suggesting

that my video card driver could be the root cause of this sound issue? I'm running Nvidia GeForce 8500GT.

Thanks for the response.
