Seeking portable player with USB input from thumb drive, etc

I have a very nice Seagate external hard drive (http://tinyurl.com/jzto that functions like a thumb drive. It holds 6GB, which is more than enough for file storage and also plenty of mp3 files. I'm looking for a portable player that will allow me to plug in the Seagate (or similar thumb drive) and play songs off of it. I know that there are car stereos that will do this, but I haven't seen a portable version. Does such a thing exist?
