I am not a professional or a lawyer. But I do have a 10X Zoom 4 Megapixel Kodak 6490 as well as a not as fancy HP 812. One was 300 bucks with cradle and the HP was under 200.
Both print 8x10 (more exactly 7.5x9.5) in good detail on the printer. I don't see where RAW would help me attain this feature.
The issue with the HP 812 is that at 4MP the optics are just barely good enough. You can see some fuzziness if you zoom in on the PC screen, but it works well enough to not show up on the big print.
The Kodak came with the rechargable battery and dock to charge in. I lucked up and got the HP dock and batteries for 16 bucks from compgeeks.
Hope this helps.
In closing, I think I'll be shopping for a 10X (or more) and 16 MegaPixels if I move up. For awhile I wondered if megapixels mattered. But it does.

I need some professional advice on the following:
1) Seeking to buy a digital camera with RAW or JPEG options, easy to use, rechargeable battery, great outdoor and indoor picture and light weight.
I have looked at the Canon Elpha, A & G series and Nikon and can't decide which is actually better, is there any recommendation? I guess $200-500 range.
Do i really need 5 megapixel to print high quality 8x10? Would 4 magapixel be suffice?
What is the best website for the best digital camera deals?
Please help.
