Question

Seeking a help of marketer, ready for 50% equity

We are two developers, backend and frontend, both experienced and have an experience making project from scratch. We want to make an MVP, but we are not sure about the idea and how to involve people into using the product.
The idea is chatroulette for motivation. We match people in pairs to help each other achieve their goals. They will have to reach out every day or every weekend and tell each what they have done in a previous period. The main idea is - when you are on your own, its simpler to get lazy and not to do the stuff you planned to do. The other use of the product will be as the online couching instrument.
We want an advice on how to reach out to people that want to use our product. Or, if you are sure you know how to lead this product to success, I would enjoy seeing you as a partner.

I like the idea of Minimum Viable Products.

In reply to: Seeking a help of marketer, ready for 50% equity

So if you want folk to use your product, you have to get the message out. Starting with a post about 50% equity is strange so I can't guess if you meant that was a partner that needed to bring cash to the table or you had cash to give them. You may want to clear that up.

But that's the rub isn't it? How to get out of the millions of apps and web pages out there today.

Did you get your pitch together and try a TED Talk?

Thanks for the helpfull answer

Didnt quiet understood you about the equity part (I am not a native English speaker, sorry :p). I do not talk about cash right now. I just talk about envolvement in the project and the benefit. I am ready to partner with a marketer who has experience with taking the project to the public. We can talk about greater equity, if needed. We just produce the product, and, seeing my previous experience, we absolutely need a person, who will think about reaching the people and doing things to attract attention.
And, if he sees that this idea is a mess, we just throw it out and dont waste our time on it.
About TED Talk - great idea, thank you. But I suppose there are even more ways to tell people about the product. And I dont want to waste my time on it - I wan tot concentrate on the delivering the best product experience as a dev. Thats why I am seeking out people. Or, if there will be no one to help, all right, I'll try to reach the crowd myself. I just doubt that it'll work out. Cause I am a dev primarily

About waste of time.

In reply to: Thanks for the helpfull answer

I spent years pushing ideas that never went anywhere then it took off. Some folk could write I wasted my time. I disagree.

Just like a farmer, you invest a lot of work with nothing to show for it sometimes.

I think you have an interesting concept. I guess the first question would be, is this product ready to go to market?

I dont quite understood your question

In reply to: Interesting Concpet

You mean do we have an MVP right now? No, we dont have it, I wont start it until we have a clear plan on how to reach our clients. I spent some time making startups that didnt fire up cause we didnt have a proper marketer to build up strategy on how to enter the market and execute it

What you need?

In reply to: I dont quite understood your question

It looks great that u are enthusiastic about the idea.
Moving forward with it to the market can make many people apprehensive.
To tackle you have to do some analysis on your own such as market analysis, landscape analysis etc.
As it is said don't let your core analysis done by others.
You can also search for mentors or guides who may help you to understand and implement the plan better in market.

Some companies may help you with this.
