IIRC, much of the impetus behind the Abolitionist movement was motivated by religion. I don't hear any complaints about the end to slavery.
In fairness, I have to admit that some of the amendments started by religious groups were not quite so successful. Think Prohibition.
Still, this left-wing notion that faith cannot be used to inform political movements is both nonsense and out of touch with reality. Where do you think the liberal ideas for welfare came from if not from religiously based notions regarding compassion for the poor?
Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly
Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
