Years ago when I pinned a Symantec rep in a corner about spyware and why Symantec's "protects your PC" (in all respects) was not catching this trojan like pest the answer was "it's not a virus."
Symantec's sluggish corporate like response to the new threats cemented my view they would milk Norton's name for as many years as they could without directly engaging in any new battles (spyware.)
Symantec shows a high disregard to its consumers with enduring bugs in their products because "it suits them".
What bugs? How about this 4 years in the running issue? -> http://www.bugnet.com/alerts/bugalert_010110.html
There are more, in other products.
Symantec makes products we can do without.
Is Symantec, for example, getting too big within the security community?
