we used to laugh that Chicago never automated their elections because that would make it too difficult to control by the Daley machine.
We all know about secret ballots during an election.
We?ve all been entertained, bamboozled by the ?stories? from Chicago about voters with addresses from ?vacant lots?; from 'graveyards', and about 'voting early and voting often'.
A new twist has been added in 2008. Invisible ink !
From the news ?story? it appears at one particular polling place, the polling place worker handed several early voters their paper ballot and a ?stylus?. Upon exiting the voting booth the voters brought to the attention of the polling place judge the fact that the ?pens? didn?t leave any marks on the ballot.
The judge told them it was invisible ink, and not to worry.
Now that?s carrying secret ballots to a new extreme.
