secondary page size

Nov 27, 2003 9:11AM PST

When right-clicking a link, the new page is much smaller than the first page. Ive heard its possible to fix it so the second page is the same size as the first. In fact, I was once given instructions on how to accomplish this, but at the time, I was not successful. I thought I would try, again. It would be nice if I didnt have to resize the new page.

If you open an Internet session by clicking on the IE Icon, make sure that you have not set it to open Maximized. Set it to Open in Normal Window, then click on a corner, side, whatever, and drag it to full screen size.
Then close it, and see if it starts up full size.
Then repeat this for a new window. After 1 or 2 time, it should stick, and all windows should open full size. Of course PopUps, and some javascripts will change their window size, but this should work for all normal IE windows. Woops! just guessing you use IE?

I remember it slightly different than young Ray Strauss.

With the first window opened full size as Ray said, then open in a new window. Stretch this new window to the size that you want. Then close the FIRST window that you opened [not the second one]. Then you can close the second window and from then on the open in a new window should be the size that you made it.

I got this from a Toni Hackler post some time ago and it works . I'm checking for it on her website to give as a link.

Yeah, but considering how old you are..

hee hee, sorry Ray, you know I'm just kidding. Toni H's way works. Think Bob Proffit had a slightly different way that works.
I do a bit of checking on my webpage, at different resolutions, and when I go to 800x600, then back to 1024x768, often my display doesn't like it. It appears much smaller, so I just click and drag. And have to repeat for a window too. After that all is well.
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! I'm a bit stuffed.

OK, Yall, I have the secondary pages opening to almost full size -- just a niggling fraction of an inch short of full -- but it is a great improvement. Happy post T-Day. Happy
