But we don't relocate the antenna because coax losses of the WiFi signal means that it's no gain at all. 1 step forward and 1 step back. No gain.
OK. On google type How do I use a router as a WAP?
The WiFi part of the router is a WAP and since a WAP costs more than most routers we use a router as a WAP. Since we get two hotspots we should and do end up with great coverage.
-> Just curious. Since all advice I hand out and read tells us to not put the router (which has the WAP) in the basement, who installed this and did they warn you?

Hello,
I current have my router/modem located in the basement of my house and I am finding a weak signal upstairs. I want to relocate the Wi-Fi antenna to upstairs to fix this issue.
I do not want to relocate router/modem upstairs since this is where all my ethernet cords meet from each room in my house. (Each room in the house has a ethernet cable connection)
Is there something I can just plug in to an unused ethernet port somewhere upstairs to broadcast another signal?
Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
