Second monitor doesn't work

Sep 15, 2006 4:56AM PDT

I added a second monitor following the Cnet video on who to do this. Then I extended Windows desktop to the second monitor. However, I can't extend any programs to the second monitor or open any programs in it. I can move the cursor to it, but that's all. As it is, the second monitor is useless. What do I need to do to extend programs to it. I'd like to open two documents in Wordperfect, one on each monitor so I can work between them.

The short version.

Start a word processor. Don't make it full screen. Click drag it to the other desktop and drop it there then maximise it.

Start another word processor with the other document.

Thanks, but . . .

I opened WP and moved it to the second monitor as you suggested. Thanks for that advice. However, I can't then open another copy of WP in the first monitor. I must assume that I can only use WP in one monitor and can't have WP open in both monitors. If so, this greatly restricts the usefulness of the second monitor. Is there any way I can use WP in both monitors?

So how do you compare docs now? AND...

How about this idea. Don't maximize the WP window. Now place it in the top left of the left screen. Click grag the bottom right of the WP window (resize) and drag that onto the other display.

Are you telling me that WP won't launch twice? I thought it would since at least WP 10.

WP opens only once

That's correct; WP will only open once no matter what I do. I'm using WP X3.
