Searching No Longer Works?!

Apr 6, 2005 10:24AM PDT

I have a PC that has Windows ME on it and for some reason can no longer use the search tool (files or folders, etc). I'm curious to see what i should do to fix this or if anyone has had this issue and what they did to fix it. thank you so much!

Pull up TWEAKUI. Place the checkmark in SHOW SEARCH ON DESKTOP.

Try that!

doesn't work? or you can't find it?

If it is only because you can't find it, in the usual place (Start>Search), there are other ways to get to the function, ways that I prefer more.

1st way)
Win+F
That is; Hold down the Windows key (the one with the Windows Flag on it) and press the F key. Hint: think "Find"

2nd way) With Windows Explorer open (Hint: Win+E)
you just select the drive, or folder, you want to start the search from, in the left pane of the 2pane Explorer window; and press Ctrl-F.
(or press the [Search] button, or select command: File>Search)
