Search annoyances

Maybe instead of playing the annoying video on virtually every page, you should concentrate in improving your search engine. For example, when I search for category "Browsers", it shows multiple pages and most the time the very same program shows up on different pages. One would think that an effective search would only unique programs and not repeat that program on multiple pages!

Cleaned up the crosspost.

Since this appears to be a download.com issue, this one remains.

Hi laynelab.

We appreciate your feedback, and apologize for any inconvenience here. We have shared your comments with the appropriate site managers for review.

You may find it helpful, after searching, to apply one of the filters from the column on the left side of the page, such as operating system, although there may still be multiple versions of a browser in the results list -- for instance, Firefox has a portable version, a 64-bit version, and so on.

However, we are always striving to improve Download.com users' experience, and delivering better search results is a big part of that. We hope you will find future changes to the site and service more user friendly.

Regards,
Jen
