Question

Seagate Backup Plus HD

May 14, 2016 9:57PM PDT

I've looked for the solution, and can't even find a similar issue, to find it.

It's model srd00f1; I only managed to use it a few times before it kinda stopped working. When I plug it up, it registers only in Device Manager, and Devices And Printers, not in the File Explorer. I have seen where it could be the cable, but the cable seems so specific, having a combined mini/micro connector oon the drive itself. I'm hoping it still has all my stuff on it, as its Properties doesn't have any info to display, yet the computer thinks the drivers are up to date, and its working fine.

Plug it into another machine.
If it works there you have a problem with your pc.

If it does not work there you have a problem with the device.

Try reformatting it in Disc Management. Be sure to remove partitions there, create ONE and format it in Disc Management.

DO NOT BOTHER TO REPAIR THIS! Why? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ESUIX4S/ is 1TB and under 65 bucks now. And will be on sale tomorrow at 6PST.
