Are you asking about data recovery?

I can't tell. But if you are, look at the top of this forum for tools and ideas.

Want it to work

I want to get it to work or show back up under my computer, like I said I can locate it under device manager and it will show when I go to try and remove it, I did download the seatools from seagate and scanned but the tools didn't seem to work.

You didn't answer my question.

But let's assume this is a new drive. Did you partition and format it? Until you do that, it may do exactly as noted.

Again, some folk see drives vanish and need the files back. The story is not complete here so I'm left to guess (badly.)

WAG, but...

Your result maybe if you removed the ext. HD before it properly dismounted. Anything along those lines will sooner or later cause an issue. The end result is that the ext. HD has become FAT corrupted or similar or possible physical damage. Now, you can't access it for whatever reason. If you can try accessing on another system and report what it states. Don't try different ports on your current PC, usually won't work. Please state fully just how all this happened.

As Robert offered find the "sticky note" on this forum to use whatever tools to see if they help. However, do this as a last resort, repeated attempts at data retrieval may causes deeper problems. Also, your ext. HD maker may have a FAQ or help to resolve this, visit their support website for model#.
