Wonderful stuff! Ain't science grand?
May 10, 2006 12:11PM PDT

Can't find the article any more, but Scientific American had an article on sea salt. Scientist said, 'We often ask why is the sea salt [Greek myths which he cited tell us why, BTW], but we should ask, ''Why is it not saltier?''' He was convinced volcanism was a big part of the picture. Goes along with the standard picture of the early earth covered with volcanoes. (Part of our own 'educated guess' about Genesis 1, in fact. Good painting of it in one of our childrens books.)

Center of Earth is Water
May 10, 2006 1:03PM PDT

Psalms 136:6 - To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Proverbs 8:29 - When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
Psalms 24:1 The earth is the LORD's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. 2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
Psalms33: 6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. 7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. 8 Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. 9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.
Genesis 49:25 - Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:
Deuteronomy 33:13 - And of Joseph he said, Blessed of the LORD be his land, for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath,
Job 38:30 - The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.

Does this mean that "The Journey to the Center of the Earth"

could end up being true? Wink Just teasing.

Maybe

It might explain where those large sea monsters could be hiding. When you look in Genesis it seems the earth was a large water ball with the "earth" sunk below the waters. A force moved across the face of the waters, maybe causing an increased rotational value and this centrifugal force moved the land masses to the outer edge of the water envelope and lifted parts above the waters. My personal theory on planet formation is completely backwards of the prevailing concepts. The prevailing concept is spinning balls of hot matter congealed into solid rock type planets and then water began to be deposited on it from comets. Although that might explain some planets I think a more plausible explanation, at least for planets forming in a temperate zone around a sun are from water droplets impacting each other and creating large globs of water held together by the properties of attraction which water has, and these globs of water kept hitting and reforming larger bodies of water until they were entire water planets. After they reached a sufficient size they began to collect the solid matter which started coming back into the inner orbits. The solid matter impacting with the water planets like a bullet is slowed in a water tank and the solid matter became captured thereby. Eventually the increasing mass of the water planets caused by the heavier matter began a rotation movement and as more matter was added the rotation speed increased and eventually the "dry land" began to appear above the surface, sent there by the centrifugal forces caused by the rotation. This could mean then the center of many planets is actually a huge subterranean ocean and the volcanic action is caused not by some hot ball of iron in the middle but simply by the movements of the land masses against each other.
