We should throw a party.

What are the levels on the other forums, anyone know?

and on some more

gee, if everybody posted 3 NTs to themselves, at that rate we ought to be able to roll that counter over in no time... or maybe it'll be like the old car odometer - there aren't enough digits so it rolls back to zero Sad

at it's best Wink

dunno about the counts in other forums, but some of them just sit there for days... not like this place, always hopping.

quick look at counts

not scientific or exhaustive. A lot of them are in the 3-5,000 range, Computer Help is at 25K, Virus is at 31K, and WinXP is at 45K. Didn't see any others higher than XP. We have double that.

Less we forget.......

CNet (& old ZDNet) forums were established for computer help/assistance. The SpeakEasy forum was to be a place where computer enthusiast/geeks/techs could discuss matters that would not be appropriate in the help/assistance forums. So, SpeakEasy is sort of a TV talk show like Jay Leno, or David Letterman, and should not be in any type competition with the CNet primary help/assistance forums. Non-computer geek types seem to have infiltrated and SpeakEasy can sometimes be compared to the that other TV talk show...GERRY SPRINGER...but with censorship.

So at 100K

we'll have to chip in to buy Mr. Ziff a new server?

Ziff isn't part of the picture anymore

When ZDNET split from them about four years ago...ZIFF-DAVIS went their own way. ZDNET has ceased to exist (mainly) due to CNET buying them out about two years ago.

ZIFF-DAVIS holdings include PCMAG.COM (none of their used to be free great programs are free anymore)

ZDNET has pretty much turned into a whitepapers type site with some downloads available...but their hotfiles.com merged into downloads.com that CNET owns.

Thanks for the update, Toni.

downloads.com is good stuff; so is CNET. Haven't looked for PC Magazine in the stores lately, but I guess it was losing subscribers to PCWorld, which I get.

The good news: We're now free to blame "Mr. Ziff" for what goes wrong on SE! Happy

Maybe so......

for Mr. CNet. Mr. Ziff left ZDNet long ago and is Ziff-Davis Media, CNet bought ZDNet several years ago, and has no ties with Ziff-Davis.
