I finally solved the issue with the Comcast HDMI output box. Returned the box and got another that was brand new. It still had the plastic on the front of the display. That was part of the issue. The other issue is that there is a power up sequence that must be followed. The TV must be unpluged from power, connect cables to cable box and TV, power on cable box, then power on TV. It worked. Picture is great in HD,but much worse in SD. SD looked much better with component cables. I may hook up both and use component for SD channels.
