Question

SD Cards!

Mar 19, 2015 6:47AM PDT

I have a Sony Vaio VPCEG32FX I recently reinstalled windows 7 and now my laptop will not read 16GB SD Cards, it does read the 8 GB SD Card. I installed an updated driver from the sony website but no luck! Does anybody know what the problem is??

May need more

Windows 7 has a service pack and some laptops need more than the card reader driver. The thing about Sony is you want to use their supplied OS. Otherwise you run into odd issues.

Laptop does have service pack, installed every update i could find, and I am using supplied OS. My friend's Toshiba laptop does read the 16 GB SD Card?

I'd go back to Sony's supplied OS then.

It could be many things, too many to sort out here. Did you try another USB card reader?
